Ethic-based organizations are those that promote employee responsibility beyond an isolated focus on compliance to rules, process and law. While adherence to law prevents negative exposure for an organization and provides leaders with some framework for their behavior, a compliance-based approach on its own does not inspire leaders to excel in developing the hallmarks of what it means to be an ethical person in business.
